This page explains what information Kovaipudur Konnect collects and how it's used, based on how the site is actually built.

Account information

If you create an account, we store your name, email address, and a password (handled by our authentication provider — we never see or store your password in plain text). If you list a business, we also store that business's contact details and location so it can be shown to visitors. Your sign-in session is kept using a secure, first-party cookie that only this site can read.

Anonymous visitor tracking

Whether or not you're signed in, your browser is given a random, anonymous id stored in a first-party cookie. This id is never your name, email, IP address, or anything else that identifies you personally — it's only used to count visits and avoid counting the same visitor twice. We use this to track things like which pages are viewed, which categories are searched, and whether a business's phone number was viewed or its WhatsApp link was clicked. This anonymous id is not linked to your account, even if you're signed in at the time.

Why you're asked to sign in to view a phone number

Revealing a business's phone number requires a signed-in account. We record that a phone number was viewed (and by which account) so we can keep this feature from being abused by automated scraping — we don't publish or share this record outside the site.

Photos you upload

If you upload photos for a business listing, they're stored with our hosting provider and served publicly as part of that business's listing — don't upload photos you don't want shown publicly.

Location & maps

If a business address is set using the map picker, that lookup is handled by Google Maps — Google's own privacy policy applies to that part of the page.

What we don't do

We don't sell your personal information. We don't run third-party advertising trackers on this site. Our direct database connection is scoped so that private fields (like a business's raw contact details) are never shown to a visitor who isn't entitled to see them.
